BD v WI highlights today – Second twenty/20 from Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida (U.S.A) Saturday 4th August 2018. In the first match at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts stadium the home team West Indies captain CR Brathwaite won the toss and asked to bowl first. Bangladesh played complete twenty overs and scored 143 runs with nine wickets down. Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar both openers were gone with duck, Liton Das faced 21 deliveries and scored 24 runs, Shakib Al Hasan (c) 19, Mushfiqur Rahim † 15, Mahmudullah 35, Ariful Haque 15 and Mehidy Hasan Miraz 11. KOK Williams took four wickets, KMA Paul and AR Nurse took two wickets each of them and remaining one wicket was taken by AD Russell.
West Indies both openers were unable to done much damage ADS Fletcher scored just 7 and E Lewis 2, the target was 91 in eleven overs because of rain interruptions. AD Russell smashed three boundaries and three maximums in his innings, he scored 35 runs off 21 balls not out, MN Samuels scored 13 runs off 26 balls, when his wicket dismissed then it was (5.4 fullish length well outside off, clears the front leg and tries to deposit it over long-on. But finds Mahmudullah there. Had to drag it from outside off, and that may have affected the distance 52/3), R Powell scored 15 runs off nine deliveries. In the end West Indies won by 7 wickets (with 11 balls remaining) (D/L method).
The last completed game in Lauderhill produced a run-glut, with West Indies and India totaling 489 runs and both innings producing a century. The weather has been quite warm, but it is likely to remain clear for both matches. Barring last-minute injuries, West Indies are unlikely to make changes to their XI. Soumya Sarkar has been in miserable form in domestic cricket, and his inclusion in the squad was only as a result of the management’s plea. He would undoubtedly be under the scanner, with Mosaddek Hossain being the prime candidate to replace him.
Shakib calls wrong, so West Indies have won the toss. Will bowl first.
